Suggestions for Yoga Asana Practice

Calm the mind.

Steady the eyes on a gazing point.
(drishti)

Awaken the central axis of the body.
(soft palate)

Find a smooth sounding
inflowing and outflowing breath.

Yoga postures are done
in the spirit of non competition
progression without aggression.

Have the postures come
from your core strength.
(mula and uddiyana bandha.)

Find your physical boundaries
and then wisely play the edges
of your range of motion
using the the breath to guide you.

Always enter and leave a yoga pose
slowly and gracefully.
