Physically: Build the strength and endurance necessary to support the increased flexibility that will accrue over time through practice. As we give our weight to the earth there is a rebounding upward force that rises through the legs. If our feet, ankles, knees, and hips are aligned well, we can direct this rebounding force into the spine. Great development for the arch in the foot, developing a good base assisting to remove physical structural problems… to the knees, spine etc.

Muscles; opening hips, groin, postural, from soles of feet to crown of the head; Feet, knees, legs, hips, spine, torso, abdomen, chest, neck; shoulders, arms, and hands, even the fingers and toes, all gain strength and become more elastic with these poses-free of tension, aches, and pains;

Physiology: Stimulates abdominal organs improving digestion and elimination; build heat for other poses, expulse dullness and depression, a leave you feeling invigorated, refreshed, and light. Standing poses tone up the cardio-vascular system Improve sluggish circulation in the lower limbs, and improve venous return. Stimulates sexual organs. Improves the blood circulation to the inner organs while massaging them. The longer the posture is held, body heat increases and circulation and respiration are improved. It creates an openness and expansiveness in the chest and thus the walls of the lungs are also toned up as these poses expand the intercostals muscles so that ventilation of the lungs is better; Tone up the nerves - Lengthening and stretching allows spinal nerves to removed congestion where they merge in the spinal column
