Back bends - Main indications for adjustments

• Breath, not smooth and even
• Collapsing through the spine
• Knees flinging outwards, not over ankles
• Dropping of the hips
• Full bridge and elbows flying outwards
• Feet on strange angles
• Breath not moving evenly
• Blocks to be used between feet and knee
• Bolster under hips for pregnant women
• Fist can be used in the case of weak wrist
• Containment of the abdominal region/ pelvic floor
• Buttocks held too rigidly;
• Uneven extension of the spine (the lower vertebrae may seem ‘jammed’);
• Tension in facial muscles;
• Elbows flare out from the body.
