Seated and kneeling asanas - Main indications for adjustment.

  • Rounded Back and/or very high knees
  • Breath, not smooth and even
  • Collapsing through the spine
  • Knee or ankle issues can make it difficult for eg Padmasana, sukhasana
  • Back issues should use a blanket under sit bones to aid lower back
  • Sciatica could be an issues and possibly use Egyptian pose in extreme cases.
  • In seat poses normally if there is an issues/difficulties in one there is an alternative that can be done, this will vary on the person and their needs.
  • Reclining poses can place great pressure of knees and ankles, so injuries here must be careful. People with lower back issues need to be aware.
  • Lots props with blankets, bolsters, 
  • Pregnancy need to be reminded
  • Blood pressure high or low, encourages blood low up, so may need to be careful coming out.
  • Knees in the air require more blankets to be sat on
  • Hunched back
