Twisting asanas - How it relates to other asana in the group

• Building up on twist is best. Starting with Parivritta sukhasana open twist and working the way through. Then Ardha Matsyendrasana with leg straight,
• Important to buildup especially for beginners, as could be prone to over twist.
• Kati Chakras can be performed at any stage…
• Jathara Parivritta can be done is stages with a different emphasis from beginners to intermediate and variations give to those with special needs

Postures:
• Kati Chakrasana   Waist rotating pose
• Parivritta Sukhasana   Twisting easy pose
• Pariviritti Marjariasana   Twisting cat, one arm up and then under
• Ardha Matsyendrasana  Half lord of the fishes
• Marichyasana 1&3   Sage twist (one leg straight foot be side not over leg)
• Pashasana 1    Noose Pose (swat twist)
• Jathara Parivritta   Abdominal Twist (torso on the floor)
• Bharadvajasana Spine Twist (Indian sage pose) ((seated to one side both feet beside hip)) …..bar ra jas ana
