Inverted Poses - How it may be sequenced in practice/class

• Inversions can be done towards the start of class after warm up, but it is better toward the later part, as it reduces the risk of injury
• Full inversions should not be taught in beginners class, especially in the opening weeks
• One must learn to stand on the feet before the head
• Shoulder stand can be done before or after head stand, better after
• Viparita Karani can be used as an opening posture at the start of class
• Inversion can be taught in a vinyasa for example crow to crane to head, paschimottasana to plough to shoulder to setu bandhasana… for those that are really skilled Sirsasana to Ardha Pincha Mayurasana
