Standing Poses - Main indications for adjustment

  • Placement of:
    • Neck alignment:
    • Feet/Knee alignment 
    • Lower back alignment 
    • Hand/ Shoulder alignment
  • Breath, not smooth and even
  • Collapsing through the spine
  • Sciatica or slipped disc have no problem with tadasana, urdhva hastasana, but need to have caution in other standing postures, but at the same time help
  • Tadasana may need to done with feet apart for those with hip or back issues.
  • Trikonasana, posture with spread legs, possibly done with a shorter stance from the traditional feet under wrist if someone is suffering back issues or pregnant etc 
  • Women giving birth should not do close twist
  • Strong poses for the inexperienced…balance and stamina
  • Head aches due to the stimulation
  • Knee issues, lunges could be a problem
  • Neck issues to keep in a neutral position
  • Insomnia and chronic fatigue not to hold poses, to be up over time
  • Step in postures if suffering with back issues, abdominal issues
